The Tide Mill
The Tide Mill is where Kate lived with Ambrose and Luc until Ambrose's death. The house was not in good condition then and is literally falling apart by the time Isa, Fatima, and Thea return years later. The house is located a short distance from Salten House. The house is described only as is necessary to further the action of the novel. The house is completely destroyed by fire at the end of the novel.
Salten House
This is the school Thea, Kate, Isa, and Fatima attend and where they become close friends. The four are expelled from the school after Ambrose's drawings come to light, and they never return until Kate presses them into attending a reunion as a cover story for their visit. The school is a boarding school with some of the dorm rooms in the building's towers. Thea, Kate, Isa, and Fatima...
