Isa Wilde
Isa is the main character of the novel, which is presented solely from her perspective. She became a student at Salten House because her mother was dying of cancer and her father was incapable of caring for a sick wife while seeing to the needs of two children. Isa resented being sent away, but she unexpectedly found comfort in her friendship with Kate, Thea, and Fatima. By the time Kate texts that she needs the other three, Isa is a lawyer and has a young daughter. Isa is involved in a serious relationship. However, like the others, she does not hesitate to rush to Kate's side.
Much of Isa's life has been structured around two significant events that happened during her brief stay at Salten House. Her mother's death naturally had a profound effect on Isa; but, in some ways, Ambrose's death had an even bigger impact...
