Summary
In Chapter 30, Miss Weatherby stops Isa in the hall. Isa says she has to get home to Freya. Miss Weatherby says Isa should consider sending Freya to Salten House. She says she regrets how things were handled when Kate left Salten House and that attitudes and policies have changed. She urges Isa to attend future events. Isa agrees, though she knows it is a lie. The women walk across the marsh toward home, a trek they made often as students but Isa now realizes someone knows about them and they could be facing danger. Kate drank a lot but ate nothing, and she throws up. Fatima urges her to eat a real meal and to slow down drinking. Kate counters, making a rude remark about Fatima's faith. Fatima counters, saying she is concerned. Fatima helps Thea walk and Isa hears her again voice...
