A Higher Power, Chapters 29-31 Summary

In Chapter 29, Gabe drives Mavis' car to the ranch. He, Val and Howard decide to drive up to where the SWAT team is waiting. Theo and Molly feel pressured to get the people and Steve out of the cave before Sheriff Burton uses gas grenades on them. Theo calls the Spider and asks for evidence to use against Sheriff Burton. The Spider agrees to turn Sheriff Burton in for a rare copy of one of Molly's movies. The Spider sends media and helicopters to help protect Theo. Molly worries about how they will get Steve out of the cave. Sheridan, the SWAT sergeant, gets Gabe, Howard, and Val out of their car, putting them in handcuffs and locking them in a SWAT truck.
