Chapters 37-40 Summary
Zerbrowski is taken to the hospital and will recover. Richard drives Anita home, thanking her for helping Louie, who was found, drugged in the witches' basement. At her apartment the phone rings. Williams, the man who had found the body at the nature center is calling to tell her of strange sounds on his owl recording. The sound is evidently a hyena. Anita remembers that a werehyena is one of the missing Lycanthropes. Williams tells her that he has called Sheriff Titus and then excuses himself to answer the door. Anita tries to warn him, but hears a noise, then the receiver being lifted. Anita threatens Aikensen, who laughs and hangs up. Anita calls the Willoton police department and gets Chief Garroway on the line. The chief is skeptical but agrees to send a car to investigate. Richard tells Anita he...
