Summary
“Honey Bunny” takes place in 2008 in NYC, and is told in the present tense by a third-person limited narrator, focalized through La Flaca from “Siberian Tiger Park”. The story begins with La Flaca snorting cocaine at a club, and afterwards, finding a dry leaf in her nose, which was hidden in the cocaine. La Flaca calls her drug dealer, Paco, and yells at him, insulting him in Spanish “to show that yeah, okay, she’s lived in New York for what, fifteen years now, but she still knows how to conjugate verbs” (112). La Flaca lays on her bed, wondering how a dried leaf got in her cocaine, and cuddles with her stuffed animals, Perrito, Chinchilla, and Honey Bunny. La Flaca then looks at an orange suitcase in the corner of her room, which she “never uses” (114).
