Summary

Not long after Cosme’s first advances, he and Camilo share their first kiss, a memory that Camilo realizes with regret he associates with the smell of cinnamon, a scent that followed Cosme’s killer around. Camilo begins feigning illness so that Paulina will excuse him from school and he can spend his days wandering the neighborhood with Cosme. Cosme begins bringing Camilo strange gifts on the days when Camilo cannot escape school. One day, Camilo and Cosme arrive to their group of boys with their hands intertwined, an act that sparks anger and retribution from their friends, who consider homosexuality to be wrong. A fight ensues during which several of the boys begin to beat Cosme before Knots steps in to break up the fight and make peace. Zetimó breaks the peace to punch Iguatemi, who is defending Cosme, prompting the boys...
