Summary
Sumac, her grandfather, and PopCorn arrived at Camelottery at seven the following evening. Brian asks where her grandfather's eyebrows are, and Sumac whispers that they were burned off in the fire. The family gives the grandfather a tour of the house, with Aspen providing loud commentary about each room. The grandfather is silent until MaxiMum mentions that PopCorn and PapaDum sleep together in one room. He says that his son's name is Reginald, and CardaMom replies that the parents' go by nicknames rather than their given names. Sumac’s grandfather tries to smoke a cigarette but MaxiMum tells him that he must smoke outside: he then asks for a cup of tea.
The next morning, the parents have a Dull Conversation after breakfast while the children write a list of manners they should uphold while their grandfather, who they nickname Grumps, is visiting: Grumps...
