Summary
In Chapter 77, Mal’akh remembered his fall into the frozen river the day Peter shot him. He had escaped death only because he managed to break a hole in the ice. He ran until he reached the highway. A man stopped for him and Mal’akh told him he was shot by a hunter and needed to go to the hospital. Even though he knew they were not going to a hospita,l Mal’akh motioned for the driver to turn at the next exit.
Mal’akh, still Andros at that point, woke in the closed hotel that he had broken into earlier. He had killed the man who picked him up. He had picked the birdshot out of his chest and was appalled by his wounds. He was hungry, but he could find not food in the truck. He changed the appearance...
