Summary

In Chapter 21, Ilse and Nathan head out to free a calf that has been caught in the fence. On the way, Nathan tells Ilse that he found a note from Cameron. He shows her, and Ilse cannot even bare to hold it. She claims as every day that goes by "I feel like I understand my husband even less" (203). Nathan continues, and tells Ilse that he tried to call Jenna Moore in the UK. Ilse wonders if Nathan is having second thoughts on the events when the boys were teenagers, but Nathan quickly dismisses that idea as he is really just trying to dismiss Jenna as a suspect in Cameron's death.
