Point of View
The Lost Hero is told from the point of view of three main characters: Jason, Piper, and Leo. It is told in the third person, but with a close insight into the observations, feelings and thoughts of the characters. Third person allows the author to jump between characters without the narrative becoming confusing, as well as letting the reader see action and events from different perspectives. By having three different point of view characters, the reader can see how things are affecting the children differently. It also allows the reader to see how all three are plagued by similar worries, such as identity issues, problems fitting in, and worries that they are not good enough.
