Chapters 33-36, Piper and Leo Summary
Piper wakes up in Colorado, where Jason has flown them using the power of the storm spirits and following the vapor trail left by Aeolus. Piper is suffering from hypothermia from being turned into gold and dunked in a river to turn her back. As they rest in a cave, she remembers a Cherokee story about a man sacrificing his wife in order to save his whole tribe and future generations of Cherokee. She realizes she might have to sacrifice her father to save her friends and the world. She tells them the truth about her dreams and about her father. Jason and Leo tell her that they want to help her father if possible. Coach Hedge concludes that the giant Enceladus must be trying to divert their journey to the mountain in California where...
