Summary

In Chapter 20, Tsunami considers confronting Blister about Kestrel's slashed throat but forces herself to stop and think. She meets Starflight's eyes and he shakes his head slightly, which Tsunami takes as an urge to be cautious. Blister asks about their “secret weapon” and Anemone's posture slumps while Coral becomes enthusiastic. Anemone, Blister, Coral, and Whirlpool are leaving the room but Anemone asks or Tsunami to come with them. Tsunami discovers Anemone has animus magic. Anemone begs not to use it, pointing out what happened to Albatross. (In Dragonstalker, Albatross was an animus dragon who used his power so much he went mad and killed most of the royal family.) Coral says Albatross used his powers a lot before he went mad. Anemone makes pearls crawl around the room, but misses when Whirlpool throws a piece of armor. Coral orders her to try again...
