Summary

Part Two is titled Into the Deep. In Chapter 7, the tunnels open into a pool and Tsunami is so overwhelmed that she remains in the water, looking at the canopy that hides the palace from the top, the 12-level pavilion, and the many pools. A hundred dragons stare at Tsunami. Starflight, Sunny, Glory, and Clay get out of the water. Tsunami makes an awkward speech, identifying herself and saying she is “happy to be home at last” (67). She is disappointed that no one seems happy to see her. Clay, Sunny, and Starflight are all gasping after their swim. Tsunami soon wishes they would all act a little more dignified.
