Steve Elkins

Steve Elkins is an independent businessman who became obsessed with finding the so-called "White City" in Honduras and funded the expedition to T1. Elkins owned a Los Angeles-based business that rented camera equipment to producers, and he got into the television production business himself. He heard about the lost city from Steve Morgan, who had put together a list of the world's most compelling unsolved mysteries.

He attended Southern Illinois University and, after developing an interest in hiking, was called "Over-the-Next-Ridge Elkins" because he also urged his hiking companions to continue to see what they would encounter net. On some bluffs overlooking the Mississippi River, he found arrowheads, bones, and tools that were thousands of years old, and he became fascinated by ancient history.
