Summary

The rain continued and prevented the aerial reconnaissance of T3. Two ethnobotanists arrived, Mark Plotkin and Professor Luis Proveda, to identify medically useful plants and trees. During brief breaks in the rain, Juan Carlos conducted a lidar scan of the cache site, and a brief aerial reconnaissance of T3 was conducted. From the helicopter, Steve saw that T3 was in a valley that was gentler and more open than T1, and he described it as a paradise. In the following year, 2016, Chris and Juan Carlos tried another reconnaissance mission over T3. Juan Carlos described it as "nonstop plazas" (173), and said it was much larger than T1 and untouched by humans.
