Summary

Chapter 9 is titled “The Celestial Palace.” Jace sends a fire message urging Alec and Magnus to meet them at the Downworlder book store called the Celestial Palace. The building takes up an entire city block and has five levels inside. Jace and the others have discovered information about the Svefnthorn, including that it gives increased power and ties the warlock to the realm of the ruler. They have been unable to find reliable information that would lead them to the Portal to Diyu. They have a lengthy discussion about the next step.
