3 Back Alley

3 Back Alley is the address for Nella’s shop. Much of the action that is featured in both Nella and Eliza’s narration is set in this shop. Two hundred years after Nella left her shop for the last time, Caroline discovered it. It was just as Nella had left it.

La Grande

La Grande is the hotel where James and Caroline were supposed to stay together for their tenth-anniversary celebration. After Caroline discovers James has been unfaithful, she goes to London and intends to stay in the hotel alone. James, however, joins her. He stays in the same hotel room, but Caroline insists he sleeps on the couch.
