Herriot
James Herriot is the narrator of the novel The Lord God Made Them All. The novel is a collection of memories and experiences from his years as a country veterinarian in the English town of Darrowby and the nearby Yorkshire Dales. The most striking aspect of Herriot's character is his love for his job as well as the humor he finds in his work experiences and the people he meets while on the job. Even situations that could be deemed disastrous or embarrassing become hilarious when viewed through Herriot's point of view. As a writer, Herriot also has the ability to capture the personality of a character, whether person or animal, in just a short amount of time.
