Chapters 13-15 Summary and Analysis
Josh Anderson, the local barber, is the topic of Chapter 13. Herriot first introduces his reader to Josh's unusual habit of giving free, but really bad haircuts, when he gets drunk. These free haircuts always take place in the local bars; those visiting Josh in his shop during business hours know their haircuts will performed properly as Josh does not drink while in his shop. Josh is also well known for the pain he causes his clients because he does not cut the hair, but instead pulls it out. He also has the odd habit of rubbing his customer's hair between his finger and thumb.
