Brian Warner [Marilyn Manson]

The shock-rock star Marilyn Manson was born Brian Warner in Canton, Ohio. His family was dysfunctional from his perverted grandfather to his abusive father and permissive mother. As a young boy he was abusive to animals and anxious to break rules, no doubt a harbinger of things to come. Although he attended a Christian school as a youngster, he soon abandoned those values forever.

As a young man on the South Beach music scene, Manson decided to see just how far an all-white, non-rap band could go in illicit and depraved on-stage behavior. His band, first called Marilyn Manson and the Spooky Kids, began to make a name for themselves for the nihilistic and perverted "performance art" they exhibited. They were discovered by Trevor Reznor of Nine Inch Nails who eventually had Manson open for them.
