Chapter 10: All for Nothing Summary and Analysis
This chapter contains the lengthy interview of Manson by Sarah Fim of Empyrean Magazine in 1995. The article begins with Fim describing Manson's debris-filled hotel room, including papers, clothing, photographs scattered everywhere. Before he begins the interview, Manson rolls up a $20 bill and snorts a line of cocaine.
Manson relates how he first broke out of the Fort Lauderdale music. Trevor Reznor of Nine Inch Nails invited Manson to shoot a video in Sharon Tate's house in Los Angeles. He wanted Manson to play guitar during the shoot. Manson said he didn't play but he could pretend to play. Oddly, Manson had always dreamed of recording a record in the house where his namesake masterminded the mass murders. He seemed to relish telling the female interviewer of several incidents in which he debased and humiliated women...
