Chapter 3: Teen Dabbler Summary and Analysis

Brian had transferred to public school where everything from sex to drugs was waiting for him. After three years in his new school, he knew that Brian Warner he had been was dying. Brian had a few scrapes with illness and injury when he began high school. He had an allergic reaction to an antibiotic which landed him in the hospital. At the skating rink, a girl he didn't know asked him to dance with her. After their dance, he was flattened by her jealous boyfriend. The injury almost ended his singing career before it began. The punch he sustained in his jaw caused him to have permanent TMJ syndrome. Trying to TP a girl's house one night, Brian fell out of a tree and dislocated his shoulder.
