Section 8: Chapter 15 and 16 Summary

In Chapter 15: Michigan, June 1999, Mike's day worsens when Amelia comes outside and sits on the patio instead of coming to talk to him. She is soon joined by Zeke and another couple, and when he finally looks up, they are all drawing him. At the end of the day, Mike buries the portrait of Amelia in the dirt pile. He cannot sleep because of the thought that the lock beat him, so at 2 A.M., Mike sneaks out and drives to the Marshes' house, retrieves the envelope with the portrait and picks the lock to the back door. He puts the unsigned drawing on Amelia's dresser and leaves. As soon as Mike gets to the Marshes' backyard the next morning, Zeke runs out and yells at him to stay away from Amelia.
