Summary
When the third match went out, the girl saw that the light from the candles were actually stars in the sky. She saw a shooting star and remembered her grandmother. Her grandmother had told her thar a shooting star meant that someone had died.
When the girl lit a fourth match, she saw her grandmother in the flame. She begged her grandmother to take her with her, because she did not want to see her grandmother vanish like the other visions did. The girl lit many matches to keep the vision of her grandmother there. After some time, the grandmother lifted the little girl and took her into the sky.
