Summary
In Chapter 11, Sam admitted to Cassie that he was not getting much information from anyone in Glenskehy about Whitethorn House or the people who lived there. Sam said the house did not seem to have a good name, much of it had to do with Simon’s behavior, but it seemed to go back even further than that.
Sam said he heard a version of the story that dealt with the baby. It appeared that a man from Whitethorn had an affair with a woman from Glenskehy. The woman got pregnant, but refused to go into hiding. The girl hung herself when the man who had gotten her pregnant told her he did not want anything more to do with her or her baby.
