Summary

Bernard will not be back to Hellhaus until tomorrow. Ester no longer goes with Bernard to visit his mother. Sometimes Ester wonders if she made a mistake having left Conrad. When Ester formerly joins Bernard to visit his mother, Ida asks Ester when she will have children, but Ester says that they might not have children. Ida remarks to Bernard that she bumped into Andrea and Susanne in the supermarket, who have children. Ester wonders if any of the girls Ida mentions are the one girl that Bernard ever loved. Ester asks Bernard if it is true that there was only one girl he ever loved and he says that it is probably true, but only until Ester (171). When Ester asks him if he married her to get revenge on Conrad, he says that it is true at first, but then becomes annoyed...
