Summary

Lucy’s period is late in Chapter 73 but she does not seem to notice the implication of this until she wakes up one morning feeling immediately nauseous. She pukes into a bin near her bedside and Darren asks if she is sick. She tells him she thinks she is pregnant and he is ecstatic, always having wanted to have more children. Lucy does not know whether the baby is Darren’s or Gabe’s. She decides not to tell Darren this, deciding it can wait until later. She is terrified that if he knows about Gabe, he will leave her or kick her out. She is also scared that if it is Gabe’s baby, how could she let Darren raise it as his own?

On her way to work one Tuesday morning in Chapter 74, Lucy gets a call from an unknown number...
