Summary
In the beginning of Chapter 67, Lucy describes 2013 as a year of disillusionment. She keeps disappointing Darren through her actions, and his reactions keep disappointing her. They seem less intimate and in love than before, and he stresses whenever she is unable to fulfil his expectations of the ideal mother. Lucy says that it was not all bad however, and that they did have a nice family holiday in East Hampton in August, but that things between them were not all that good generally.
Between Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve, Lucy sees the name Linda on Darren’s phone without a surname, and wonders if he is having an affair. She begins trying to look for evidence, to find clues, to assess what is going on but it is all in vain. She searches his Facebook page for people named Linda, thinks...
