Summary
Chapter 61 sees the tenth anniversary of the attack on the Twin Towers. Lucy gets a call from Gabe. She had contemplated calling him but was not sure she should. They talk about the significance of the day, and Lucy tells him how Violet’s school calls it Heroes Day to celebrate the firefighters, police officers, and EMT’s that helped rescue people. They comment that they feel they should be standing on the roof of the Wein building commemorating the occasion but seeing as they cannot do that, they just pretend they are there together. This makes both of them feel better, as if they have achieved some closure regarding the event, and they hang up. Lucy notes that the day would have felt incomplete had she not spoken to Gabe then.
