Summary
In Chapter 19, “Thou Shalt Commit Adulting,” Yami goes home and reunites with her family. Cesar tells her that she was right—their father is homophobic. He told Cesar that Yami was just going through a phase, but he was not going to tell her mother because he did not want her to be kicked out onto the streets. Yami goes to school and complains about not having enough money. Bo suggests she work as a secretary for her mom, who is a lawyer. Yami agrees and calls Mrs. Taylor to work out the details. Yami starts working and begins saving up lots of money so she can move out on her own.
