Section 14, Pages 328 - 367 Summary
They can't stay on the ledge they are perched on, so one at a time they go up the old rope ladder that is their only choice. When Tungata goes up, a rung breaks and when Craig tries, the whole thing begins to collapse so they lower a rope and help him to get the rest of the way up. Exhausted, wet and cold, they keep going, leaving their gear behind for now. After fifty feet, the tunnel they are in opens up to reveal the crystal cathedral that is Lobengula's tomb. Its beauty takes their breath away. Lobengula sits on a platform, with the beer pots of diamonds around him.
