Section 7, Pages 153 - 181 Summary
The Prime Minister, disturbed by the slaying of the Goodwin family, vows justice will be done. Sally-Anne is appeased, but Craig is not so eager for fighting to begin again. Two days later when the entire household heads to Bulawayo for shopping and socializing, they are turned back. Shots are heard in the distance and Craig quickly gets them turned around. News and truth is hard to get because the minister of Zimbabwe has expelled all journalists. Craig listens to the BBC on shortwave radio, and it is sickly familiar. Three days later for Sally-Anne's birthday, Craig gives her a Rhodesian lion dog puppy and everyone gets the day off in honor of her birth.
During the night Craig hears gunfire, wakes Sally-Anne, and tells her to get dressed. He turns on the outside lights, and cuts the house...
