Summary
February 21, 1969, an attack is made on an Israeli supermarket. Dalia learns that Bashir has been accused of being a part of it, because of his connection to the PFLP (Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine), who have been responsible for other attacks as well. Bashir is imprisoned and tortured to try to get a confession out of him. This is one of many instances of this kind of torture taking place. Bashir's family tries to find news of him but can't. Police force his sister to listen to him being tortured in the next room. Bashir refuses to acknowledge any part in the attacks. The Palestine resistance gains some victories and give Arabs renewed hope. Some draw connections between the spirit of these fighters and the Vietcong against the U.S. in Vietnam, and leftist idealists take...
