Summary
Kevin returns from Florida two weeks before the January town meeting. There is a big turnout at the meeting. He hopes to adjourn the meeting by nine o’clock which is when he told Nora to expect him. Kevin moves those gathered quickly through the agenda then opens the floor up for Public Comment. Kevin claims to like Open Comment but in truth he dreads the forum that allows all the freaks and cranks to air their grievances.
The meeting runs late and Kevin apologizes to Nora as he enters her house carrying a bottle of wine. As Kevin talks, Nora nods at what she judges to be appropriate times and does her best to demonstrate that she’s a good listener, a good girlfriend.
