Summary

In Chapter 18, “‘Is She Safe Here?,’” when Adil came over to walk Edgar, Oliver reminded himself he was a “pleasant young man who may or may not be a member of a terrorist cell” (245). Adil asked to stay at Oliver’s until the campus drama died down. Oliver agreed, scoffing at the people “taking offense without knowing the details” (246).

The day of the Big Vote on the curriculum issue, Oliver “drove to LifeFloat” (254). He experienced the same hallucinations again.

On his desk, Oliver found “a picture of Ruhaba without a headscarf” (255). Because the image was seductive, he interrupted Ruhaba’s classroom to show it to her. She was furious. Later, she did not come to the Big Vote meeting. Oliver “voted ‘yes’” (258).
