Summary

In Chapter 4, “The Kings of Norway,” Goran told Timo about Ivan making pornography. This did not bother Timo, but he suggested Goran confront Ivan.

After hearing about the videos, Timo watched them and subscribed to the site. He realized Ivan was making “enough to live on” (139).

Timo accompanied Goran to the practice room. He and Fyodor had gotten back together, but they were fighting again. Timo should be grading papers, but put it off. He sat on the piano bench near Goran and listened to him play. The music felt like a “concrete thing in the world” (146). Although Timo used to play, he “had given it up for math” (147).
