Summary

In Chapter 14, the wolf pup says that his father was the wolf who the stag had pushed over the cliff. Although the pup wants to avenge his father, and although he hates humans, he believes the stag was right and wants to help their mission. The group walks together, and Kester begins to feel sick. The group passes by a mansion with smoke coming out of the chimney and Kester demands to go inside and rest. The stag says no, and Kester gets angry. Then he becomes afraid that he has caught the disease.

In Chapter 15, Kester runs down the hill to the mansion which he sees is called Wind’s Edge. The General unlocks the door and lets Kester into the hotel. Feeling dizzy and sick, Kester follows a noise and finds a cat with red eyes. Suddenly...
