Summary
In Chapter 14, Oona's mother continued to visit the same white supremacist websites; some had disappeared and on others people were talking about “the end of the world” (149). Some discussed “the savagery of the dark people” (150), but Oona's mother was no longer frightened by such talk. Eventually, she stopped visiting the websites altogether. Anders visited the graveyard where his father was buried every weekend and Oona accompanied him. On one visit, Oona recalled her brother not wishing to visit the cemetery after their father was buried. Anders asked her if she would like to go that cemetery, where her father and brother were both buried now, and she said she would like to do that sometime. Anders reflected on the fact that he and Oona both had a special relationship with death after having lost family members close to them. Later, Oona and Anders...
