The Power of Revenge

Chet's and Vivian’s behaviors, as described in the novel The Last Time I Lied, demonstrate how powerful the desire for revenge can be. Chet kidnaps three girls and almost kills Emma because he believes she needs to be punished for what she did to his family. Vivian kills Natalie and Allison because she believes they dared her sister to walk out on a frozen reservoir and then did not help her. Emma is also prone to the power of revenge.
