Chapters 25-28 Summary

In Chapter 25, Steve and Jonah have a conversation in which Jonah asks to move in with his father on a permanent basis. It breaks Steve's heart to have to say no. Later, Steve comes to the realization that walking the beach to find God as Pastor Harris often does will not work for him because Steve has found God in his children.

In Chapter 26, Ronnie tracks down Blaze to ask her once again to tell the truth and finds out that Blaze's mother has kicked her out of the house. Ronnie feels bad for Blaze and offers her a place to stay if she ever needs it. At home, Ronnie worries about what to wear for the wedding. Jonah gives Ronnie all the money in his piggy bank, all money he has taken from Ronnie to keep her secrets.
