Chapters 11-17 Summary

In Chapter 11, Steve and Jonah spend the day putting up a barrier in front of the alcove where the piano is located so that Ronnie will no longer have to see it. Later they go to fly kites on the beach. When Ronnie calls to ask Steve to pick her up at the police station, he goes without question and listens to her story. Steve tells Ronnie that he believes her and will do all he can to help her. Then Steve shows Ronnie a turtle egg nest on the beach. Steve has a restless night as Ronnie insists on sleeping on the beach and he worries for her safety.
