Chapters 3, 4, and 5 Summary

In chapter three, Percy returns to Camp Half-Blood with bad news. He is greeted at the shore by several his friends, including Charles Beckendorf's girlfriend Selina. He delivers the news about the cruise ship explosion and Charles's death. Most of the demigods leave at that point, as noone wants to hear the bad news. Chiron and Annabeth hang around for the detailed report, but Percy asks about the prophesy. Chiron leads Annabeth and Percy to the Big House where the Oracle resides in the attic.

When Annabeth, Chiron, and Percy arrive at the war council, the cabins of Ares and Apollo are arguing over some loot captured during a battle. Apollo cabin seems to have the greatest claim on the loot. Clarisse, the leader of Ares cabin, declares that Ares cabin will sit out the war until she gets the loot...
