Part 3, Bail Out: Chapters 13-15 Summary
Jack is grabbed by two German soldiers and taken to a building where they make him undress and examine his papers. Jack is then instructed to dress again and is taken to a German military base where he is interviewed by another soldier. Jack refuses to answer any questions except for giving his name, rank and serial number as instructed by his commanding officers. The German sends Jack to a cell where he spends the night. The next morning, Jack is put onto a bus with other American soldiers, many of whom are injured. Jack calls out the names of his crewmembers, hoping one of them are among this group. Unfortunately, no one knows what happened to Jack's friends. Jack and his fellow passengers wait aboard the bus all day until it finally begins to...
