Summary

Chapter 33 is titled “Seeing Visions.” Sai and Bo are tossed around the deck before making it to Rian's room. Sai leaves Bo in the relative safety of the room while Sai searches for Rian or Sangra. Looking over the side, she sees that “A large, smooth thing was coiled around our hull. An armored mass of muscle glittered as it slid slowly against the polished planks” (284). During a flash of lightning, she sees Rian and Sangra in a physical fight at the ship's railing. When the lightning comes again, Sangra is gone, and Rian is looking down.

Chapter 34 is titled “A Debt Repaid.” Sai is not sure what she just witnessed but feels she and Bo are in danger. She rushes Bo down to the galley. Sai asks Bo about the “wild stories” his aunt told him. “She said all sorts of things...
