Summary
Chapter 17 is titled “Rats and Tuna.” Sai immediately recognizes the boy from Pitaya Island. She knows he will be in serious trouble if he is caught as a stowaway. Sai chases him on deck. They are in a heated argument when Sai hears Lark approaching. The boy, who later identifies himself as Bo, drops out of sight at Sai's command. Sai then involves Lark in a conversation about what he is catching in his nets. Sai helps him release another net through an opening on the side of the ship. As Lark walks away, Sai realizes Bo is tangled in the rope of the heavy net. She cannot catch him before he goes over the side.
