Summary

Chapter 10 is titled “New Friends and Old.” Sai struggles with seasickness for the first four days of the voyage. She has a tiny room that is more like a closet to herself. She goes on deck on the fourth day and finds Paiyoon talking with a man and woman. Paiyoon looks healthy and confident as he introduces Mr. Lark, the naturalist who is hoping to document new species of plants and animals. Dr. Pinching is the ship's surgeon. Rian Prasomsap is clearly at home on the ship. Lark says he has no idea why Rian is on this voyage. Captain Anchalee Sangra, known as the Tiger of the Sea, is the ship's captain.
