Jean de Carrouges IV
Jean was a knight and a military leader. He was first married to Jeanne de Tilly. Jeanne died young, and their only son died a short time later, leaving Jean a widow and childless. He later married Marguerite de Thibouville who was several years younger, a common practice at the time. Jean's mother was Nicole de Carrouges and his father was Jean de Carrouges III. Jean was the oldest son and the only person who could carry on this family name by producing a male heir. Jean's younger brother joined the monastery and his only other sibling was a sister.
