Summary
In the afterward, Ptolemy Gray writes Robyn a letter while she is away. With Robyn in his life, the medicine “in [his] veins,” and his late friend Coydog McMann’s words in his ear, Ptolemy sits in his Los Angeles apartment ready “to finally be a man” (1, Mosley's italics). He tells Robyn he loves her though his family “might be mad” he made her his heir (1, Mosley's italics). He is writing the note while waiting for “the man with two names” to come tell him the truth (2, Mosley's italics). Once Ptolemy knows the truth, he might have to kill the man. Robyn gave him the courage to do it if he has to.
