Noor
Noor grew up in Tehran, Iran. She was raised by two loving parents who run a long-time family business called Cafe Leila. She enjoys spending time in the garden of the cafe and spends hours playing with her older brother and her school friends. Noor's mother dies when she is just a teenager. Her father tries to continue on with life the best he can, but he is concerned that all of his protection is not enough to provide a happy life for his daughter in post-revolutionary Iran. He makes arrangements behind her back to send Noor to California for college, where he hopes she will live out the rest of her life. Noor is heartbroken to leave her father and her country.
